The academic training of researchers is very much focused on generating experts as opposed to team leaders. This is despite the fact that innovation needs technical resources as well as a favourable human environment. I believe HFP Consulting’s ‘soft skills’ trainings can dramatically improve the people skills of (future) leaders. Each workshop is a reminder to me of quite how transformative such trainings can be. Ultimately, this can have far-reaching positive effects on the personal development and wellbeing of scientists, as well as on knowledge advancement.
